here's an alternate chord form. personally, i think it gives more control over the strings, and evens out the tone to make it a bit more like the open tuning:

obviously, it doesn't have the strum patterns, embellishments before the slide up to the 7th fret, etc.
also, i use my first finger (starting on the 7th fret) to mute the other unwanted strings, like the 6th and 4th, and i use my third finger (starting on the 8th fret) to mute the 1st string.
i can post the instrumental walkdown part later on if someone needs it.
